Your dedicated data scientist
We are high-tech with a personal approach.
As development specialists in the field of statistical learning and machine learning, we offer customized approaches that address your data overload in order to gain clear and actionable insights. We are experienced, simple and accessible programmers who focus on what works best for your project, not what is the easiest.
We are all about action and simplicity.
Large or small project, millions of observations or just a few hundred, contact us to find out what we can do for you. You'll be surprised how far your budget will take you. Whether you're working with big data, survey data, or looking for petabyte patterns of unstructured text, we know what to do. Our methods have helped nonprofits demonstrate that they are making a difference in their communities, identified predictive signals in rapid stock market movements, predicted real estate values, and improved internal administrative processes. Share your data with us, and we'll show you a solution.

Roger’s extensive career has been built on the fundamentals of data analysis, predictive modeling and related decision-making.
After studies in applied mathematics with the University of Paris, he joined Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Europe as an econometrician. He spearheaded the design, computation and implementation of credit scores, as well as their integration in credit risk strategies. After implementing Basel II models across Europe, he was transferred to Toronto to build commercial credit scores in Canada, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, implementing credit risk strategies for major financial institutions around the world.
With NPD, a world-wide leader for syndicated market studies, Roger oversaw the international team of statisticians contributing to product innovation.
He then moved to the telecommunication industry with Rogers Communication where he created the Business Intelligence department and led his team through three major reorganisations.
Moving back to the credit bureaus industry, Roger joined Equifax Canada as vice president analytics, leading the turnaround of commercial business, creating new products, introducing new technologies and organizing marketing strategy.
In 2013, Roger created SMC, a small, but talented, data science boutique that helps companies and institutions optimizing their strategic decision-making process through the application of mathematical models. Specialized in predictive modelling and machine learning they contribute to implementing artificial intelligence in process optimization.
Roger teaches Business Analytics and Machine Learning at the University of Toronto and the BrainStation. He is also contributing to the AI curriculum for George Brown College. He has completed numerous studies and research on decision heuristics and biases, developing reasoning methods and processes around systemic design and game theory.
His latest projects include market segmentation for a US insurance company, a blockchain credit adjudication platform for a Fintech, a machine learning automated valuation model for the mortgage industry or an NLP classification model for a translation company. He is involved in various start-ups, including a digital marketplace in Ghana.
Roger is also a Reserve Officer with the French Army. A Colonel in the Airborne Marines, he is the deputy Defence Attaché with the French Embassy in Ottawa. He graduated from the French Ecole de Guerre in Paris, and from the Canadian Forces College. For more than 15 years, Roger teaches strategic and operational planning to senior officers at the Canadian Forces College.
